A temporary steel truss has been inserted into the bridge to support it during the renovation process. The weight of the bridge is now being totally supported by the steel truss and with the use of needle beams, the bridge has been raised off its abutments and pier. Once renovation is complete, the bridge will once again rest on its original abutments.
