The work on the trusses has been completed, now the fabrication of the lower chord from new lumber is beginning. When that is completed and the flooring re-installed in the bridge, this will be the end of Phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 will begin when the funding is approved at an undetermined time in the future. Once Phase 2 begins, the rotted upper chord will be replaced and the rest of the work completed. If the funding for this portion of the project is not approved soon, this work to save the bridge will have been done in vain.
